WHAT WE OFFER TO DO FOR THE CLIENT / WHAT IS OUR OBJECTIVE
We are passionate about assisting you in crafting a working environment that complies entirely with all aspects of occupational health and safety legislation, and that eliminates any and all risks associated with environments within the lifting solutions industry.
REASONS FOR INSPECTIONS / QUARTERLY, COLOUR CODING
Lifting equipment and tackle must be examined/inspected quarterly and all lifting machinery is required by legislation to have a visual inspection of the load tested machinery every 6 months.
REASONS FOR LOAD TESTING / ANNUAL – COLOUR CODING
All lifting machinery is required by legislation to be load tested every 12 months. Where a load test certificate has expired, it is illegal to use the uncertified machine.
TRAINING
With the depth of experience gained over many years in the industry, on-site training courses have been specifically designed to fulfill individual and company training needs which are flexible to our client’s unique requirements. Some of our training courses have been approved by ECSA (The Engineering Council of S.A) and LEEASA ( Lifting Equipment Engineering Association of S.A).
Our training instructors are all veterans of the trade and have extensive technical and practical experience. They are all Registered Lifting Machine inspectors and are registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa.
On-site inspection and maintenance courses are available.
ADVANTAGES OF QUALITY AND SAFETY ASSURANCE ON SITE – LIFE SPAN OF EQUIPMENT
It is essential to comply with these safety protocols to prevent accidents, to maintain safe operations and to be legally compliant. Our Lifting machinery inspectors apply a systematic Risk and Recommendation Method of reporting. This allows for maintenance planning and the review process to drive continuous improvement in safety and productivity on site.
WATER BAGS VS SOLID WEIGHTS.
Water bags and solid weights have been a debate for many years. Water bags are more versatile and easier to transport, which works out cheaper for the client. Water Bags are safer as the load gets applied in increments and the unit is gradually stressed there by decreasing the risk of shock-loading and failure of the unit. The load is monitored with a calibrated load cell.
Water Bags work out more economical as the client saves on transportation costs of having to transport big tonnages on trucks. For example 60 Tonnes of solid weights would require 2x 30 Tonnes trucks to transport. How ever 70 Tonnes of water bags only weighs 720 Kgs and can be loaded onto the back of a standard light delivery vehicle.
WW Load Testing Specialist does however have over 160T of solid weights as some sites policy’s do not permit the use of water.
European, Chinese & Locally produced bags.
WW Load Testing Specialists uses load testing bags sourced from the highest quality suppliers such as JW AUTO MARINE in the United Kingdom. The bags sourced by WW Load Testing Specialists all go through tests such as drop tests to ensure they are of the highest quality and we do not have any incidents on site.
Some Chinese & locally produced bags are not made with the same material and are of an inferior quality. The manufacturers do not carry out quality assurance testing such as drop testing. The client has the right to request drop tests certificates to ensure quality.
